Christina Das is a proud first-generation Indian American and Brooklynite. She brings to BYD a passion for the local politics with a focus on social justice issues and years of advocating for minority groups. She discovered that grassroots organizing was the best vehicle to cause change while door-knocking throughout Western Pennsylvania as an Organizing Fellow for President Obama’s 2012 race. A 2014 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Christina made sure her voice was heard not only in the classroom but also throughout campus as Political Action Director of the Pennsylvania College Democrats and nationally through Women for Women. Along with her repertoire of leading young democrats, Christina has a breadth of experience in campaign finance during her tenure as Deputy Finance Director of the Senate Democratic Campaign Committee in Pennsylvania. Presently, Christina is a law student at the CUNY School of Law where she is training to be a legal advocate on behalf of marginalized communities. She also serves on the Kings County Democratic Committee as a committee member and Judicial Alternate for the 42nd Assembly District. In her free time, Christina loves to cook and enjoys hosting potlucks for friends and family.
