Sarah is a senior at the New York City Lab High School. A lifelong democrat, Sarah grew in a very progressive household that encouraged political participation. Sarah began her work in politics at 14 when she volunteered on Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer’s campaign. After working on Brewer’s campaign only for a short few months, Sarah was hooked. Once Brewer took office as Manhattan Borough President, Sarah interned in her office during the spring semester of her Freshman year. That summer, Sarah served as the Director of Volunteer Services, Phone banking, and Deputy Director of GOTV for Assemblymember Rebecca Seawright’s campaign. Sarah also worked on Congresswomen Carolyn Maloney’s 2014 re-election campaign. In the spring of 2015, Sarah became one of the youngest people to be appointed to a NYC Community Board. Sarah currently serves on the Health and Education committee and the Housing, Homeless, and Human Rights on Manhattan’s Community Board 6. Sarah is thrilled to be serving as Co Chair of NYSYD‘s high school caucus, the New York High School Democrats.
