Tim Kennedy’s background stems from his involvement in local civic affairs, combined with relentless optimism, good will and charming smile. He has been involved with college democrats in the past, and has served as Rensselaer County Young Democrats preseident for four years.
While studying Political Science and Urban Planning at the University at Albany, he naturally became passionate about the policy-making process. In pursuing this passion, he’s spent time working within several non-profit organizations, government offices, consumer advocacy campaigns, political campaigns and different communications firms. That experience is what he intends to give to the Young Democrats of New York State. That’s where his vision of a new atonement for volunteerism and civic participation will help build a strong and resilient Young Democrats organization.
As a political scientist and community activist, he understands which strategies work and the importance of building a support system around local initiatives and local candidates. Kennedy looks forward to building a better future for the Young Democrats, while serving as Vice President of the Capital Region on the NYSYD Executive Board.
